The Secret to the Universe

I have discovered the secret to the universe, that being unattractive as a youth, makes you a great catch as an adult.
We all had "those" kids in school, the ones with the perfect teeth, blond hair, and early development of boobs or facial hair. Everyone in the class had a crush on them, and they made you feel inferior and weak at the knees.
Then there were the kids, myself included, who were so awkward that the Ugly Ducking was an epitomy of coolness. One day Nick took one of my elementary school pictures into work for a "Most Awkward" award, I won hands down. I had gigantic, coke bottles glasses, huge bangs (who didn't) and was very tall and skinny. I also didn't develop breasts till I was 20.
Since I was an extremely awkward looking kid and teen, I had to develop other aspects of myself. I had to develop a sense of humor, obviously because of the way I looked, I had to strive for kindness because of the way I looked, and I worked toward being a good friend.
I think that the reason that a lot of girls who were pretty as kids and are pretty now are such witches, is because they never had to develop a personality. They were pined over, coveted and thankfully now pay the price.

I love these pictures of you when you were younger. They are so stinkin' cute. I should post some of my awkward years photos...yikes!
