Celebration of Nations

We had a huge day at work. It’s the biggest event I put on all year.

It’s called the Celebration of Nations. It’s basically a huge thank you for our associates. It’s one big cultural extravaganza! We have 14 different countries, each with their own booth, decorated in their country, and they give out foodfrom that country. This year we had, Brazil, China, Cuba, England, Israel/Palestine, Italy, Japan, Liberia, Mexico, New Guinea, Polynesian Islands, Slovakia, Sweden & Switzerland. Here are the Polynesian Islands and Slovakia Booths, they did a great job! The Polynesian booth made necklaces for all 400 associates from coconut shells in the shape of fish hooks. Fish hooks represent good luck and prosperity.

There are Dracula worthy castles in Slovakia, so these girls constructed a castle out of cardboard and foam. One of the girls was 5 months pregnant so I was truly impressed.

I had a committee of about 50 people helping with all the countries and everything else. It was a wonderful day, and everyone had a great time. I have the sunburn to prove it!
